## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS PERFORMING A TOUCH AND GO WHEN HE ENCOUNTERED A CROSS WIND CONDITION, THE PILOT OVER CORRECTED FOR THE CROSSWIND AND LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED SHARPLY TO THE LEFT, DEPARTED FROM THE RUNWAY AND IMPACTED A GROUP OF TREES WHERE IT CAME TO REST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL06CA012](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL06CA012), Nov 5, 2005: Cessna 150 (N704VR), Monroesville, AL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control, which resulted in a loss of control and collision with trees.

## Other reports on N704VR (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19781222043769A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19781222043769A), Dec 22, 1978: Cessna A150K (N704VR), Lompoc, CA, Substantial damage. Plowed field. Failed to retract landing flaps.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
