## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) UPON N30NM DEPARTING MY77 HELIPAD THE PIC NOTICED WARNING INDICATIONS ON THE RIGHT ENGINE. THE PIC STATED THAT HE HEARD A LOUD "BANG" FOLLOWED BY A LOSS OF POWER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROXIMATELY 15 FEET ABOVE THE HELIPAD AT THE TIME OF THE POWER LOSS AND AFTER LANDING THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO ROLL VIOLENTLY LEFT AND RIGHT (GROUND RESONANCE) CAUSING THE LEFT MAIN GEAR TO COLLAPSE. THE PIC WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE MAIN ROTOR BLADES FROM STRIKING THE HELIPAD, HOWEVER THE TAIL ROTOR DID STRIKE THE EDGE OF THE HELIPAD SEVERING A METAL CABLE. AFTER THE LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED THE AIRCRAFT ROTATED APPROXIMATELY 180 DEGREES, FROM ITS INITIAL HEADING ON TOUCHDOWN, DRAGGING THE NOSE AND RIGHT MAIN GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST APPROXIMATELY TWO FEET FROM THE EDGE OF THE HELIPAD. CORRECTIVE ACTION HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE ENGINES HAVE YET TO BE EXAMINED BY PRATT & WHITNEY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI06LA027](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI06LA027), Nov 8, 2005: Agusta A109-E (N30NM), Robbinsdale, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of lift for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
