(-23) ON NOVEMBER 9, 2005, A CESSNA CE-172-N, N5437J, SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE UPON LANDING AT ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, (GKY) ARLINGTON, TX. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WHO WAS CONDUCTING HER FIRST SOLO FLIGHT. SHE HAD ACCOMPLISHED TWO TOUCH AND GOES AND WAS LANDING FOR THE THIRD TIME WHEN SHE SAID THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06CA030](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06CA030), Nov 9, 2005: Cessna 172N (N5437J), Arlington, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The students improper recovery from a bounced landing. A contributing factor was the pilots excessive airspeed on final approach.

## Other reports on N5437J (1)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
