## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) BEFORE DEPARTING SLC WHEN THE PILOT TURNED ON THE MASTER SWITCH THE GENERATOR SWITCH DID NOT GO TO THE ON POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON BATTERY DURING THE FLIGHT TO PROVO. SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE ARRIVING AT PVU HE NOTICED THE LIGHTS DIMMING AND SOME GAUGES WERE ACTING UP. IT WAS THEN HE NOTICED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS OFF. HE TURNED IT ON THE LIGHTS AND GAGES BECAME NORMAL. DURING THE APPROACH TO PROVO HE PUT THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE DOWN POSITION AND HE HEARD THE LANDING GEAR MOTOR RUNNING. SO HE THOUGHT THE GEAR WAS DOWN. HE DID NOT NOTICE THE LANDING GEAR GREEN LIGHTS NOT BEING ON. HE SAID THE WARNING HORN DID NOT SOUND. THERE WAS POWER ON THE ENGINE SO THE THROTTLE WAS TOO FAR IN TO ACTIVATE THE HORN. HE WAS PAYING ATTENTION TO THE AIRCRAFT THAT WAS AHEAD OF HIM IN THE PATTERN. THE DAMAGE TO THE AIRFRAME WAS LIMITED TO THE BELLY PANELS FORWARD OF THE GEAR. THE PROPELLER WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED AS EACH BLADE WAS LOOSE IN THE HUB AND THE BLADES TIPS WERE BENT AT AN ACUTE ANGLE. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
