## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING APPROACH TO LANDING THE PILOT OF N6122A WAS ASKED BY THE PALO ALTO ATCT TO MAKE "S" TURNS TO CREATE SEPARATION BETWEEN THEM AND A BEECHCRAFT BE-18 IN POSITION FOR TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 31. AFTER THE BE-18 DEPARTED, N6122A LANDED LONG ON THE 2443 FOOT RUNWAY. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, A "GO-AROUND" WAS INITIATED, AFTER THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE AGAIN, IT STRUCK A 4 FOOT HIGH PERIMETER FENCE, SLID UP A BERM AND CAME TO REST ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE BERM IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX06CA040](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX06CA040), Nov 18, 2005: Cessna P210R (N6122A), Palo Alto, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's misjudged altitude and distance, which resulted in an overrun, and his failure to execute a timely go-around during the approach.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
