## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS CERTIFIED IN THE EXPERIMENTAL EXHIBITION CATEGORY ON 09/22/2005. AIRCRAFT HAD JUST COMPLETED INITIAL FLIGHT TEST PHASE 1 REQUIRING 5 HOURS OF FLIGHT TEST WITHOUT ANY MALFUNCTIONS OF THE GEAR. ATTEMPTS TO LOWER THE GEAR BY PLACING THE GEAR SELECTOR HANDLE IN THE FULL DOWN POSITION FAILED TO OVERRIDE THE SYSTEM AS DESIGNED. ON THIS FLIGHT THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR VALVE SEEMED TO BE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT NOT ALLOWING THE FREE FLOW OF HYDRAULIC FLUID PREVENTING THE LANDING GEAR FROM FREE FALLING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
