## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) TAKING OFF ON RUNWAY 31 AT NEW BRAUNFELS AIRPORT, A GUST OF WIND CAUGHT THE CE-206 AIRCRAFT LIFTING IT UP ON ITS RIGHT WING AND PROPELLER. THE PILOT CONTROLLED THE AIRPLANE AND STOPPED IT IN THE GRASS NEXT TO THE RUNWAY. THE WIND WAS REPORTED TO BE 270 DEGREES AT 11 KTS, GUSTING TO 20 KTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06CA035](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06CA035), Nov 23, 2005: Cessna P206 (N2564X), New Braunfels, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper compensation for the existing wind conditions resulting in a loss of control. A contributing factor was the gusty crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
