## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) LEFT WING TIP STRUCK A FUEL TRUCK DURING TAXI. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING INTO GATE D-5 IN WHAT WAS DESCRIBED BY THE MARSHALLER AS "TOO FAST." THE FUEL TRUCK WAS PARKED IN BETWEEN SPOTS D-5 AND D-6 TO REFUEL AN AIRCRAFT AS D-6. THE FUEL TRUCK WAS PARKED PERPENDICULAR TO THE AIRCRAFT ON D-6 OFF ITS RIGHT WING. AS THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED, THE FUEL TRUCK DRIVER COULD SEE THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE CLOSE. HE MOVED TO AN OBSERVATION POINT AT WHICH HE COULD SEE THE LEFT WING WALKER SIGNALLING STOP, WITH HIS WANDS CROSSED IN AN X. THE MARSHALLER APPARENTLY DID NOT SEE HIS SIGNAL, OR SAW IT TOO LATE AND CONTINUED TO MARSHAL THE AIRCRAFT INTO D-5. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT WING TIP SCRAPED THE LADDER ON THE BACK OF THE FUEL TRUCK, CONTINUED ANOTHER APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET AND STOPPED AT THE GATE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON CENTERLINE AT ALL TIMES.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
