## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) INSTRUCTOR PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT LOST SUFFICIENT POWER FROM ENGINE TO CONTINUE CLIMB DURING TAKEOFF. INSTRUCTOR PILOT PERFORMED MAG CHECK, CHECK WAS GOOD AND IT WAS DETERMINED BY THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT THAT THE AIRCRAFT SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY LANDED. UPON HARD LANDING THE LEFT SHOCK STRUT WAS BROKEN, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER OFF ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE RUNWAY WHERE IT CAME TO A REST. DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO THE LEFT WING TIP AND AILERON.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
