## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT LANDED AT EKO ON RUNWAY 23 WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED AND THE AIRPLANE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. MECHANICAL FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM IS NOT SUSPECTED. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER BOTH STATED THAT THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE WAS IN THE "DOWN" POSITION WITH A CORRESPONDING GEAR INDICATION "GREEN" LIGHT PRIOR TO THE LANDING. WHEN RECOVERY PERSONNEL ARRIVED AT THE AIRCRAFT, THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE WAS REPORTEDLY OBSERVED IN THE DOWN POSITION AND THE EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION HANDLED IN THE EXTENDED POSITION. THE AIRPORT MANAGER INDICATED HE FOUND THE MASTER SWITCH IN THE "OFF" POSITION, THE FUEL TANK SELECTOR IN THE "LEFT" POSITION, THE MAGNETO SWITCH IN THE "BOTH" POSITION, AND THE MIXTURE IN THE RICH POSITION. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL PLACED THE AIRPLANE ON JACKS. ACCORDING TO A & P MECHANIC ^PRIVACY DATA^ THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS FOUND "IN THE WHEEL WELL, BUT NOT LOCKED POSITION"; AND, WHEN HE TURNED THE MASTER SWITCH TO THE "ON" POSITION, THE GEAR EXTENDED NORMALLY TO THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION WITH A COCKPIT "GREEN" LIGHT INDICATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
