## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) CAPTAIN LANDED AIRPLANE AT NIGHT ON RUNWAY 34R, THE STEERED ONTO A REVERSE HI-SPEED TAXIWAY F4. CAPTAIN BECAME MOMENTARILY CONFUSED BY THE NUMEROUS AIRPORT LIGHTS AND RUSHED BECAUSE OF AIRCRAFT TRAFFIC BEHIND ON SHORT FINAL FOR 34R. HE THOUGHT HE WAS STEERING ONTO A TAXIWAY WHICH REQUIRES A 90-DEGREE TURN FROM THE RUNWAY. THEREFORE, THE AIRCRAFT WAS STEERED TOO CLOSE TO THE SOUTH EDGE OF F4 AS THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY. THIS RESULTED IN THE RIGHT PROP STRIKING THE TAXI LITE. PILOT CALLED DEN ATCT AND ADVISED OF THE INCIDENT, THE REPORTED IT TO MAINTENANCE. PILOT SAID THAT THE RUNWAY ORIGINALLY ASSIGNED TO THEM BY ATC FOR LANDING WAS 35L. THE RUNWAY ASSIGNMENT FOR LANDING WAS CHANGED TO 34R WHILE THEY WERE ON BASE LEG FOR VISUAL TO 35L, OUTSIDE THE OUTER MARKER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
