## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS ON THE LANDING ROLLOUT ON RUNWAY 3 AT SIOUX FALLS, SD AT ABOUT 0245 CST ON 12-01-05. THERE WAS LIGHT SNOW REPORTED AND THE RUNWAY HAD PACKED SNOW WITH BRAKING ACTION REPORTED AS FAIR BY AIRPORT OFFICIALS. THE PILOT SAID THE NOSEWHEEL STEERING WAS NOT EFFECTIVE AND THE LEFT PROPELLER WENT INTO BETA BEFORE THE RIGHT, CAUSING THE AIRPLANE TO VEER TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT PROPELLER STRUCK A RUNWAY LIGHT ABOUT 4500' FROM THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE AND TAXIED TO THE PARKING AREA. THE CHIEF PILOT AND DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS LATER CHECKED THE NOSEWHEEL STEERING AND PROPELLER REVERSING, AND COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS. REQUIRED GEARBOX INSPECTION REVEALED NO DAMAGE. THE PROPELLER WAS REPLACED AND THE AIRPLANE WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE ON 12-4-05.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
