## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 06, 2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 1530 PST, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ WAS IN THE CRUISE PORTION OF FLIGHT IN N1942A, A STINSON MODEL V77 AIRCRAFT, WHEN THE LYCOMING MODEL R680 ENGINE SEIZED. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY^ MADE A SUCCESSFUL OFF AIRPORT LANDING ON A DIRT ROAD APPROXIMATELY 3 1/2 MILES NORTH OF WINTERHAVEN, CA. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE TO ONE OF THE WINGS WHEN IT STRUCK A TALL BUSH. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY^ AND WIFE, HIS ONLY PASSENGER, WERE NOT INJURED. NO FIRE RESULTED. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY^ INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE TOTALLY SEIZED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
