## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT 12:45 EASTERN, N20EA, A RV8, MADE A FORCED LANDING ON A PRIVATE AIRSTRIP DUE TO ENGINE FAILURE DURING TAKEOFF. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE TWO OCCUPANTS. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THE LEFT FUEL TANK WAS FULL OF FUEL; THE FUEL QUANTITY IN THE RIGHT FUEL TANK COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL WAS AT SIX QUARTS. THE CONTINUITY OF THE ENGINES CONTROLS WAS ESTABLISHED. ENGINE FUEL SYSTEM LINES WERE DISCONNECTED FROM THE CARBURETOR AND A FUEL SAMPLE REVEALED CLEAN BLUE AVIATION FUEL. AN EXTERNAL INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE REVEALED NO OBVIOUS MECHANICAL ANOMALIES. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONSIDERED TO BE MINOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
