(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS ENGAGED IN LANDING PRACTICE RELEVANT TO SOFT FIELD LANDING. HE REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS COMING IN RELATIVELY FAST AND TOUCHED DOWN ON THE LAST 2/3RDS OF RUNWAY 27. SUBSEQUENTLY THE BRAKES LOCKED UP, THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED INTO THE GRASS AND THEN NOSED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA06CA032](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA06CA032), Dec 16, 2005: Cessna 172P (N51434), Hialeah, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the CFI to perform a go-around following a long landing resulting in overrun, on ground encounter with soft terrain, and subsequent nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
