## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE TAXIING NORTH BOUND IN A NON MOVEMENT AREA THE AIRCRAFT, A RYAN NAVION COLLIDED WITH A PICK UP TRUCK THAT WAS PARKED NEXT TO THE TAXIWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS PART OF A FLIGHT OF THREE OF WHICH THE FIRST TWO HAD ALREADY PASSED THE PICKUP. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE COULD NOT JUDGE THE DISTANCE OF HIS WING TIP OT THE PICKUP BECAUSE OF GLARE ON HIS CANOPY. THE DRIVER OF THE PICKUP STATED THAT HE WAS PARKED AND DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO MOVE BEFORE THE THIRD AIRCRAFT STRUCK HIS WINDSHIELD. NEITHER THE PILOT NOR THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE PICKUP SUFFERED A BROKEN WINDSHIELD AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEADING EDGE AND TIP OF THE LEFT WING. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY CLASSIFIED AS AN OCCURRENCE BY THE VNY FSDO. LATER REPORTS FROM THE NTSB UPGRADED IT TO AN ACCIDENT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
