## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT STATED THAT HE CAME IN LOW AND FAST APPROACHING RUNWAY 30 AT C77. HE LANDED WITH THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT NOT ALIGNED WITH RUNWAY. ALL THREE WHEELS TOUCHED GROUND HARD SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN BOUNCED INTO THE AIR AND VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY TO THE RIGHT AND TOUCHED DOWN IN SNOW-COVERED GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT THEN SKIDDED TO A STOP. THE NOSEWHEEL FOLDED BACK DUE TO THE IMPACT. PILOT STATED THAT BOTH WINGTIPS MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND, ALTHOUGH HE DID NOT KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI06CA059](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI06CA059), Dec 20, 2005: Cessna 150F (N8723S), Poplar Grove, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's inadequate recovery from the bounced landing, and not maintaining airplane control during the landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
