## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) HOLIDAY WEEKEND, DEPARTED LITTLE ROCK, AR FOR WICHITA, KS, LANDED AT INDEPENDENCE, KS TO REFUEL, BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET FUEL. TOOK BACK OFF AND ATTEMPTED RADIO CONTACT WITH BARTLESVILLE OK WITH NO RESPONSE. PILOT THEN TRIED TO REACH TULSA, OK. WAS CLEARED TO LAND (TUL) AND WAS ON SHORT FINAL FOR A (ONE EIGHT RIGHT) LANDING WHEN THE ENGINE QUIT, THE PILOT RESTARTED IT, AND IT QUIT AGAIN. AIRCRAFT WAS STILL ABOUT 1 MILE SHORT OF RUNWAY WHEN IT CRASHED INTO THE TREE TOPS AND THEN FELL TO THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06CA045](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06CA045), Jan 1, 2006: Cessna 150L (N18132), Tulsa, OK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper preflight planning and preparation, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

## Other reports on N18132 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19990428015109I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19990428015109I), Apr 28, 1999: Cessna 150M (N18132), Benton, KS. Pilot experienced a loss of engine power during takeoff. Aircraft made power-off landing with no injury.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
