## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS SINKING FAST WHILE LANDING AT 1K2. HE STATED THAT HE TRIED TO RECOVER, BUT EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING, HOWEVER, THE LANDING DID NOT SEEM TOO HARD. THE TOP HALF OF THE FIREWALL PULLED FORWARD AND DOWN AND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FIREWALL HAD A TEAR IN IT ABOUT EIGHT INCHES LONG, ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE FIREWALL. CONTROLS, HOSES AND WIRES CAUSED THE CENTER OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL TO PULL FORWARD ABOUT SIX INCHES, PULLING TWO INSTRUMENTS LOOSE FROM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
