## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KALB FOR KPBI. A SCHEDULED STOP FOR FUEL WAS SET FOR EYF. 3 HOURS INTO THE FLIGHT A DECISION WAS MADE TO FIND A SUITABLE AIRPORT AND LAND IN ORDER TO HAVE ERRONEOUS FUEL GAUGE READINGS INSPECTED. THE LEFT ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. A CROSS FEED WAS INITIATED AND THE ENGINE STABILIZED. AN ATTEMPT TO LAND WAS MADE AT CTZ BUT MEN AND EQUIPMENT WERE ON OR ABOUT THE RUNWAY. A GO-AROUND WAS INITIATED. BOTH ENGINES LOST POWER AND THE PILOT LOOKED FOR A FIELD IN WHICH TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT. THE LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED BUT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR THE NOSE GEAR TO FULLY EXTEND BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN THE FIELD. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER SAFELY EGRESSED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
