## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON FEBRUARY 6, 2006, AT 1951 EST, A WIGGINS AIRWAYS CE-208-B, REGISTERED TO FEDERAL EXPRESS CORP., NOTIFIED THE ELMIRA TOWER OF SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT, JUST AFTER TAKEOFF, AND WAS CLEARED TO RETURN AND LAND ON RUNWAY 28. THE ARFF RESPONDED AND NO FIRE WAS OBSERVED. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TEST-FLOWN SATISFACTORILY ON FEBRUARY 7, 2006, AND RELEASED FOR SERVICE. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AND TERMINATED AT THE ELMIRA REGIONAL AIRPORT, ELMIRA, NY ON FEBRUARY 6, 2006. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
