## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT, WITH NO PASSENGERS ABOARD, LANDED HIS "MOUNTAIN GOAT" EXPERIMENTAL SINGLE ENGINE LAND AIRPLANE ON REMOTE GRAVEL AIRSTRIP APPROXIMATELY 23 MILES SOUTH OF PALMER, AK. THE WEATHER WAS VFR WITH GOOD VISIBILITIES AND CEILINGS AND NO SIGNIFICANT WINDS. AFTER NORMAL LANDING PILOT WAS TAXIING TO PARKING WHEN HE ENCOUNTERED AN AREA OF THE AIRSTRIP COVERED WITH ABOUT FOUR INCHES OF WATER. HE HAD LOCAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE STRIP AND THE GRAVEL SURFACE AND CONSIDERED IT SAFE TO CONTINUE TAXIING. HE NOTICED AN AREA AHEAD WITH A SMALL ICE RIDGE AND FELT THE AIRCRAFT COULD EASILY TAXI OVER IT SO HE CONTINUED HIS TAXI. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT REACHED THE ICE RIDGE IT DID NOT GO OVER IT BUT INSTEAD CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP AND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT OVER ONTO ITS TAIL. THE ENGINE SUSTAINED SUDDEN STOPPAGE AND THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE PROP AND THE RUDDER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC06CA019](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC06CA019), Feb 13, 2006: Kenetic Mountain Goat (N101MG), Palmer, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of unsuitable terrain for taxi, which resulted in the airplane nosing over while taxiing after landing. A factor associated with the accident was the rough and uneven terrain.
