## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PILOT STATEMENT: I WAS PREPARING TO TAXI DOWN THE TAXIWAY AT CIRCLE HOT SPRINGS STRIP, WHILE WARMING UP THE ENGINE, THE SKI'S FROZE DOWN, ONE BROKE LOOSE BEFORE THE OTHER, CAUSING THE PLANE TO VEER TO THE LEFT 180 DEGREES. THE TAXIWAY AND ALSO THE RUNWAY WAS EXTREMELY ICY WITH A SKIFF OF SNOW. BEING ON SKIS, I HAD NO CONTROL OF THE DIRECTION OF THE PLANES MOMENTUM. I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT TURNED; THE RIGHT SKI STUCK, AND BENT THE GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
