## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 4, 2006, AT 1153, FLIGHT 4255, AIRCRAFT N872AS WHILE ENROUTE FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA (ATL) TO WICHITA, KANSAS (ICT); THE FLIGHT CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY DUE TO FLAP FAILURE. THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT THEY HAD A FLAP CONTROL TROUBLE INDICATOR LIGHT (FLAP FAIL CAUTION) COME ON ABOUT 35 MINUTES OUT FROM ICT. THE WICHITA FIRE UNITS RESPONDED TO THE EMERGENCY WHILE AIRCRAFT N872AS APPROACH FOR LANDING. AIRCRAFT N872AS LANDED WITH NO FLAPS, FAST AND LONG, BUT SAFELY AND NO FURTHER INCIDENTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
