## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS SINGLE PLACE EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT AND WAS PLANNING ON FLYING IT BACK TO TEXAS. ON DEPARTURE FROM PAINE FIELD RUNWAY 34, THE AIRCRAFT GOT AIRBORNE BUT DID NOT CLIMB. PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS BUFFETING AND THAT HE DIDN'T THINK IT WAS DEVELOPING FULL POWER. PILOT CLIMBED TO APPROX 50 FEET, DRIFTING LEFT OF CENTERLINE. UPON REACHING THE GLIDESLOPE ANTENNA BUILDING LOCATED 500 FEET FROM THE END OF THE RUNWAY, THE PILOT BANKED SHARPLY TO AVOID HITTING THE ANTENNA, STALLING THE AIRCRAFT AND SUBSEQUENTLY CRASHING IN THE GRASS. SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO WINGS AND LANDING GEAR. PILOT UNINJURED.
