## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 12, 2006, THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ PIC OF N4462A, A PA-22-150, DEPARTED SHANNON AIRPORT, VA (EZF) FOR A PLEASURE FLIGHT TO HUMMEL FIELD, VA (W75). THE RECOMMENDED RUNWAY AT W75 WAS 19 AS THE WINDS WERE APPROXIMATELY 230 AT 11 KNOTS GUSTING TO 18 KNOTS. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN IN A FULL STALL THREE POINT LANDING, A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE WING. THE PIC APPLIED CORRECTIVE ACTION HOWEVER, A SECOND GUST OF WIND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO EXIT THE RUNWAY INTO A SHALLOW DITCH RESULTING IN A GROUND LOOP. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ WAS NOT INJURED HOWEVER, THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR WAS SHEARED OFF, THE RIGHT WING TIP, RIGHT ELEVATOR AND PROPELLER WERE DAMAGED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
