## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A PILOT AND THREE PASSENGERS ON BOARD SENECA N21RR DEPARTED RUNWAY 11 AT M. GRAHAM CLARK-TANEY COUNTY AIRPORT (PLK), POINT LOOKOUT, MO, ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN TO LUBBOCK, TEXAS. THE FLIGHT WAS CLEARED TO 4,000 FEET BY SGF ATCT AND ENTERED IMC CONDITIONS SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF. RADAR DATA DEPICTED N21RR TURNING TO THE SOUTHWEST AND REACHING 2,900 FEET MSL, FOLLOWED BY A DESCENT UNTIL RADAR CONTACT WAS LOST. WITNESSES ON THE GROUND OBSERVED N21RR MANEUVERING BELOW THE CLOUD BASES, ESTIMATED TO BE 400 FEET AGL, IN A WESTERLY DIRECTION. PIC DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH SGF ATCT, STATING THAT HE "WAS IN TROUBLE, I'M IN BIG TROUBLE." HE THEN STATED THAT HE WAS "FLYING LOW OVER THE CITY AND TRYING TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT." THERE WAS NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION. OTHER WITNESSES OBSERVED N21RR TURN TO THE NORTH AT APPROXIMATELY TREETOP LEVEL MOMENTS BEFORE THE AIRPLANE APPARENTLY STALLED AND IMPACTED A SELF-STORAGE BUILDING. THE ENSUING FIRE DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT EXCEPT FOR THE EMPANNAGE AND ENGINES. BOTH ENGINES AND PROPELLERS WERE RECOVERED AND TRANSPORTED TO A LOCAL WORKSHOP. PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS OF THE ENGINES AND PROPELLERS REVEALED NO OBVIOUS ABNORMALITIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
