## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS FLYING AN ILS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 14 AT SHREVEPORT REGIONAL (NIGHT, IMC) AND DESCENDED BELOW THE GLIDEPATH IN THE FINAL STAGES OF THE APPROACH. AIRCRAFT INTIALLY STRUCK AN APPROACH LIGHT 600 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY, THEN HIT THE GROUND AND STRUCK SEVERAL MORE APPROACH LIGHTS BEFORE ARRIVING BACK UP ON THE PAVED RUNWAY SURFACE. PILOT THEN TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT TO A NEARBY FBO AND SHUTDOWN. AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE NOSE SECTION INCLUDING A WARPED BULKHEAD INSIDE THE NOSE, AND TO PROPS AND LANDING GEAR, A LANDING LIGHT, AND PITOT TUBE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06CA089](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06CA089), Mar 21, 2006: Aero Commander AC50 (N662MW), Shreveport, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to execute a missed approach after losing visual contact with the runway, which resulted in a collision with approach lights. Factors were the dark night conditions and the fog.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
