## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED HE WAS MAKING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS ON RUNWAY 5, ON HIS SECOND TOUCH DOWN HE LANDED AND ROLLED ABOUT 100 TO 200 HUNDRED FEET DOWN THE RUNWAY WHEN HE HEARD A LOUD CRACKING NOISE AND ABOUT 2 SECONDS LATER HEARD ANOTHER NOISE AT WHICH TIME THE RIGHT WING DROPPED. THE PILOT ADDED POWER TO BRING THE RIGHT WING UP. THE PILOT STATED HE KNEW THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR MUST BE GONE SO HE STARTED A SHARP RIGHT TURN WITH LEFT AILERON AND RIGHT RUDDER AND NOISE STEERING TO PUT THE AIRCRAFT WEIGHT ON LEFT MAIN AND NOSE WHEEL. THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED GRASS HALF WAY BETWEEN 2 RUNWAY LIGHTS WITH RIGHT WING ABOUT 2 FEET ABOVE GROUND, AIRCRAFT SETTLED TO THE GROUND 45 DEGREES OFF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT TO DISCOVER THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR STRUT HAD SHEARED OFF CLOSE TO THE ATTACH POINT. THE ONLY OTHER DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS TO THE RIGHT WING TIP AND SLIGHT DAMAGE TO BOTTOM TIP OF RUDDER. THE OWNER'S MECHANIC IS SUBMITTING A MALFUNCTION OR DEFECT REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
