## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 28, 2006 AT APPROXIMATELY 1000 HRS. LOCAL, THE ABOVE NAMED INDIVIDUAL WAS TAKING-OFF ON RUNWAY 10 AT OCEOLA AIRPORT (OEO), OCEOLA, WI. WITNESSES STATE THAT THE POWERED HANGGLIDER REACHED AN ALTITUDE BETWEEN 50 TO 100 FEET AGL WHEN IT STARTED A STEEP TURN TO STARBOARD AND WHEN THE CRAFT WAS PERPENDICULAR TO THE RUNWAY DURING THIS TURN, IT CEASED TO REMAIN AIRBORNE AND VIOLENTLY CRASHED TO THE GROUND. WEATHER AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT WAS CLEAR AND WIND WAS CALM. OTHER AIRCRAFT IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AT OEO WERE USING RUNWAY 28 DUE TO A SLIGHT WIND THAT WAS VARIABLE AT 220-260 DEGREES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
