## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED THAT AFTER DROPPING OFF A MEDICAL PATIENT AT THE HONOLULU KAISER MOANALUA HOSPITAL THE AIRCRAFT AND CREW WAS TO RETURN TO HOME BASE AT KAHULUI MAUI (OGG). AT APPROXIMATELY 3NM EAST OF CKH VOR, OFF SHORE, THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE NO. 2 ENGINE HAD SUDDENLY FAILED WITH NO PRIOR WARNING INDICATIONS. THE PILOT NOTIFIED ATC AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. THE NO. 1 ENGINE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS CLEARED TO LAND AT THE HNL INT'L AIRPORT, SOUTH RAMP CHARLIE TAXIWAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. CRASH RESCUE WAS PRESENT UPON LANDING. UPON AN INSPECTION BY THE OPERATORS MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL IT APPEARED THE NO. 2 ENGINE FUEL PUMP LOCATED ON THE FUEL CONTROL UNIT HAD FAILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
