## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) APRIL O7, 2006, N4316T A PIPER PA-28-140, CRASHED JUST OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AT GASTON'S RESORT AT LAKEVIEW, AR. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AND NO FLIGHT PLAN HAD BEEN FILED. PILOT WAS AIRLIFTED TO ST. JOHN'S HOSPITAL IN MISSOURI AND BOTH PASSENGERS WERE TRANSPORTED TO BAXTER COUNTY HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. WITNESSES STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT APPEARED TO HAVE DIFFICULTY LIFTING OFF AND THAT WHEN IT DID BECOME AIRBORNE THE WINGS WERE ROCKING HEAVILY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO GAIN ALTITUDE AND CONTACTED A TREE SEVERAL HUNDRED YARDS PAST THE END OF THE RUNWAY. AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT THE RIGHT WING REMAINED IN THE TREE AND THE FUSELAGE AND LEFT WING UNATTACHED STRUCK THE GROUND, ALL THREE OCCUPANTS WERE ABLE TO EVACUATE THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06CA096](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06CA096), Apr 7, 2006: Piper PA-28-140 (N4316T), Lakeview, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate weather evaluation and failure to maintain airspeed, which resulted in an inadvertent stall. A contributing factor was the prevailing tailwind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
