## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING AN INTERVIEW REGARDING THIS ACCIDENT, ^PRIVACY D^ A CERTIFICATED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, STATED THAT HE FAILED TO MAINTAIN ADEQUATE OVERSIGHT OF HIS STUDENT PILOT. THE STUDENT WAS CONDUCTING THE LANDING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A 7 KNOT RIGHT CROSSWIND, TO A DRY PAVED RUNWAY, IN AN AIRPLANE EQUIPPED WITH OVERSIZED TIRES. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ^PRIVACY D^ FURTHER STATED THAT BY THE TIME HE REALIZED THE STUDENT PILOT HAD LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT, INSUFFICIENT TIME REMAINED FOR HIM TO TAKE CONTROL AND MAKE THE NECESSARY CORRECTIONS. AS A RESULT OF THE LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL, THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED AND WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.
