## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING AN APPROACH TO LAND, THE NOSE WHEEL POSITION LIGHT INDICATED A MALFUNCTION. AFTER TROUBLE SHOOTING THE SYSTEM, THE PILOT MADE TWO "FLY-BYS" THE CONTROL TOWER AND ONE "FLY-BY" THE COMPANY MAINTENANCE HANGAR. ALL SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED THE NOSE WHEEL WAS IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE PILOT MADE A LANDING AND AS THE NOSE WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN IT COLLAPSED RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE AIRPLANE, THE NOSE GEAR ACTUATOR WAS FOUND BROKEN AND IT HAD JAMMED THE EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION SO THAT THE NOSE WHEEL WAS UNABLE TO LOCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. INCIDENT ^PRIVACY DATA OM^ CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
