## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 18, 2006 A STUDENT PILOT ON HIS FIRST SOLO CROSS COUNTRY LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WHILE MAKING A CROSSWIND LANDING ON RUNWAY 35 AT THE STILLWATER REGIONAL AIRPORT IN STILLWATER, OKLAHOMA. THE AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY AND THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND CAUSING IT TO CURL ABOUT AN INCH AND A HALF OF BOTH PROPELLER TIPS. THE STUDENT PILOT REPORTED THAT AFTER RUNNING OFF THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY HE TAXIED BACK ONTO THE RUNWAY AND TO THE TRANSIENT RAMP. HE FURTHER STATED THAT HE DIDN'T NOTICE THE DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER UNTIL HE GOT OUT TO SECURE THE AIRCRAFT. WIND WAS REPORTED 290 DEGREES AT 15 KNOTS AND VISIBILITY 10 MILES AND CLEAR BELOW 12000' AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE STUDENT PILOT/SOLE OCCUPANT WAS NOT INJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
