## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APRIL 19, 2006, AT APPROXIMATELY 1340 LOCAL, N3419V, A CESSNA CE-150-M AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AFTER STRIKING POWERLINES APPROXIMATELY ONE HALF MILE NORTH OF NORTHWEST REGIONAL AIRPORT (52F), ROANOKE, TX. THE PILOT-IN-COMMMAND, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND HIS STUDENT DEPARTED RWY 35 AT NORTHWEST REGIONAL AIRPORT. SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTURE THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND/INSTRUCTOR INITIATED A SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK POWERLINES DURING THE DESCENT AND THEN IMPACTED THE GROUND AND CAME TO REST UPSIDE DOWN. NEITHER OCCUPANT WAS INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DFW06CA109](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DFW06CA109), Apr 19, 2006: Cessna 150M (N3419V), Roanake, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from an unmarked transmission wire. A contributing factor was the low altitude flight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
