## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA ^ STATED WHILE HE WAS IDLING IN HIS TIEDOWN SPOT HE REACHED BEHIND HIM TO RETRIEVE SOMETHING AND INADVERTENTLY BUMPED THE THROTTLE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THIS BUMPING RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT LURCHING FORWARD AND STRIKING ANOTHER AIRCRAFT'S WING (CESSNA 172 N8683U) WITH THE PROPELLER. MINOR DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE BONANZA'S PROPELLER AND EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE CESSNA'S WING AND VERTICAL TAIL. THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DAT^ CONCLUDED THAT IN FUTURE OPERATIONS HE WOULD SHUT DOWN HIS ENGINE IF HE REALIZED HIS COCKPIT WAS NOT SUFFICIENTLY ORGANIZED FOR FLIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
