## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OM^ OF N20342 MADE A HARD LANDING AT HIS PRIVATE AIRPORT NEAR NORTHPORT, WA. ACCORDING TO THE PILOT THE WINDS WERE EXCESSIVELY GUSTY AND ON TOUCHDOWN, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. INSTEAD OF REMAINING ON THE ASPHALT RUNWAY, THE PILOT, BY HIS OWN ADMISSION, MISTAKENLY EXITED THE RUNWAY ONTO THE ADJACENT PLOWED SOD. THE DAMAGED NOSE GEAR THEN STUCK INTO THE SOFT SOIL AND STOPPED THE AIRCRAFT. THE RESIDUAL FORWARD MOMENTUM FLIPPED THE AIRPLANE TAIL OVER. THE HARD LANDING SHEARED AND FOLDED THE NOSE GEAR AFT CAUSING THE PROP TO STRIKE THE GROUND. THE VERTICAL STABILIZER, RUDDER, AND LEFT AILERON WERE SLIGHTLY BENT AND BRAISED FROM THE RESULTANT FLIP.
