## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) IN FLIGHT FROM COVINGTON, TN TO SELMER, TN; ENGINE RPM SUDDENLY DROPPED TO 1800 RPMS AND COULD NOT BE CHANGED. THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THROTTLE CONTROLS. DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND LANDED IN A FIELD BETWEEN MCNAIRY AND HARDEMAN COUNTY LINES IN TN. THE WEATHER WAS VFR. MECHANIC CHECKED OUT AIRCRAFT AND FOUND A BOLT MISSING ON THE YOKE OF THE CARBURETOR THROTTLE ASSEMBLY. REPAIRS WERE MADE AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THIS WAS A PLEASURE FLIGHT WITH PILOT AND WIFE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
