## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE FLYING TO LAX, THE NUMBER 2 ENGINE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES AT AIRSPEED 270 @ 20,000 FT. THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, RETARDED THE #2 ENGINE TO IDLE, AND DIVERTED TO ONT. DURING DESCENT, THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED ANOTHER STALL. THE CREW KEPT THE ENGINE IN IDLE AND LANDED SAFELY. JETBLUE MAINTENANCE DISPATCHED FROM LONG BEACH AIRPORT. THEY BORESCOPED THE #2 ENGINE AND FOUND THE HIGH PRESSURE COMPRESSOR BLADES, STAGES 8 THROUGH 12, WORN BEYOND LIMITS. THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED. ENGINE OPS CHECK OK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
