## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE CENTER TORQUE LINKAGE CONNECTING BOLT ASSY WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL WHICH RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR TWISTING AND ROTATING AT LEAST 90 DEGREES WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AND EVENTUALLY RESULTED IN THE GEAR SHEARING OFF AT THE TOP OF THE BARREL PISTON CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO SLIDE OFF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SAID TO BE CRABBING TO THE RIGHT DUE TO A LIGHT CROSSWIND WHICH PUT A SIDE LOAD ON THE TIRE AT TOUCH DOWN. THE TWISTING FORCE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE CENTER TORQUE LINK TO SEPARATE OVER THE NUT END OF THE BOLT.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
