## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRMAN WAS FERRYING HIS RECENTLY PURCHASED AIRCRAFT FROM FLORIDA TO CALIFORNIA. DURING CLIMBOUT FROM CASA GRANDE, A PLANNED STOP, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BIRD, THE PILOT STATES THAT HIS ALTITUDE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2500 FEET AGL. THE WINDSCREEN WAS DESTROYED, AND THE PILOT SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES TO HIS EYE. THE PILOT RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT CASA GRANDE MEDICAL CENTER, AND WAS RELEASED LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
