## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MISHAP PILOT DEPARTED FROM PRIVATE AIRSTRIP AT RESIDENCE. AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED WINDSHEAR 300 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL. PILOT APPLIED FULL POWER ALONG WITH RUDDER AND AILERON INPUTS, AND ATTEMPTED TO MAINTAIN COORDINATED FLIGHT. PILOT WAS ONLY ABLE TO MAINTAIN MINIMAL AIRCRAFT CONTROL. PILOT INDICATED THAT HE WAS FACED WITH THE CHOICE OF CRASHING INTO A WOODED AREA OR MANEUVERING AS BEST HE COULD TO AN OPEN FIELD. PILOT LANDED IN FIELD CAUSING DAMAGE PRIMARILY TO THE PROPELLER AND LANDING GEAR OF THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. PILOT REPORTED THAT THE ENGINE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY THROUGHOUT THE FLIGHT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
