## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING APPROACH TO HYA FROM MVY, PILOT DID NOT GET 3 GREENS FOR GEAR DOWN & LOCKED. HE FOLLOWED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES AND HAND PUMPED THE HYD SYSTEM UNTIL HE GOT 3 GREENS. THE TOWER CONFIRMED THAT IT APPEARED ALL 3 GEAR WERE DEPLOYED. AFTER LANDING ROLL THE NLG COLLAPSED & A/C SKIDDED TO AN UNEVENTFUL STOP. MY INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE L/H MLG ACTUATOR WAS LEAKING AS EVIDENCED DURING ATTEMPTED GEAR SWINGS IN GRIFFIN HANGAR IN HYA. THIS PREVENTED ADEQUATE HYDRAULIC PRESS. NEEDED TO OVER-CENTER THE NLG IN ITS DOWNLOCKED POSITION. APPARENTLY, THE NLG GREEN DOWNLOCK LIGHT ILLUMINATES SLIGHTLY BEFORE THE GEAR IS ACTUALLY LOCKED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
