## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED CAS GRANDE, AZ (CGZ) BOUND TO VISALIA, CA (VIS) WHEN AT 8500' THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A DROP IN OIL PRESSURE TO 40 PSI NEAR BUCKEYE, AZ. THE OIL PRESSURE DROPPED TO 38 PSI AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO RUN VERY ROUGH. THE PILOT ELECTED TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND LANDED ON A ROAD WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. AIRCRAFT WAS DISASSEMBLED AND TRUCKED TO THE CHANDLER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (CHD). CHANDLER AVIATION NOTED A HOLE IN THE ENGINE CASE. ENGINE RELEASED TO SUPERIOR AIR PARTS, WHICH IS THE AIRCRAFT OWNER AND MANUFACTURER OF THE XP-360 EXPERIMENTAL ENGINE THAT FAILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
