## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS A STUDENT PILOT WHO HAD PLANNED ON CONDUCTING A SOLO FLIGHT PERFORMING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS. ON THE FIRST APPROACH, THE AIRCRAFT LANDED HARD AND BOUNCED BACK INTO THE AIR, THEN LANDED HARD AGAIN. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND GO AROUND. OBSERVERS ON THE GROUND NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR APPEARED TO BE SEVERELY DAMAGED. OBSERVERS NOTIFIED THE PILOT OF AN UNSAFE GEAR SITUATION AND A LANDING WAS MADE WITHOUT CAUSING MORE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
