## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ #1 ENGINE FIRE OCCURRED 60 NM SOUTH OF PDN AT 17,000 FT. ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN WITH FUEL AND PROP FEATHERED AND FIRE WENT OUT. EMERG: CHECKLIST REVIEWED AND COMPLETED AND ANCHORAGE CENTER NOTIFIED OF EMERGENCY AND DESCENDED TO 8,500 FT. I WAS TALKING TO ANOTHER COMPANY PILOT AND DECIDED TO GO TO AKN. LANDED AKN WITH NO PROBLEMS AND FIRE CREW MET PLANE ON RAMP WHERE PLANE WAS SHUT DOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
