## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT 10:50 PDT, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE WAS APPROACHING THE DRY LAKE BED FOR A FLY-BY INSPECTION WITH THE FLAPS DOWN AND THE LANDING GEAR UP, INTENDING TO FLY A FULL CIRCULAR PATTERN AND THEN LAND. HE THEN SAW A TRUCK DRIVING ALONG THE EDGE WITH NO PROBLEM, AT THAT TIME THE PILOT PULLED THE THROTTLE BACK AND LANDED. THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP IN THE DIRT, STAYING UPRIGHT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE DID NOT HEAR THE LANDING GEAR WARNING HORN SOUND. THERE WAS NO FIRE. THE OCCUPANTS THEN DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT AND SURVEYED THE DAMAGE. THE PILOT REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO AWP-6.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
