## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 6/19/2006, EXPRESSJET FLIGHT 2075 ENROUTE FROM BUFFALO TO NEWARK STARTED AN INITIAL DESCENT WHEN APPROXIMATELY 25NM SOUTH OF ALBANY, NY THE PILOTS BEGAN TO SMELL A BURNING ODOR AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE BOTTOM OF #2 WINDSCREEN. THE CAPTAIN DESELECTED THE WINDSHIELD 1 AND 2 HEAT AND THE SMOKE STOPPED. THE CREW CONTINUED TO RUN EMERGENCY PROCEDURES FROM THE QUICK REFERENCE HANDBOOK, SECTION 11. THE CREW NOTIFIED ATC OF THE CONDITION AND REQUESTED A VECTOR TO ALBANY AIRPORT (ALB). AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS MADE ON RUNWAY 19 AND THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE GATE FOR NORMAL PASSENGER DEPLANING. MAINTENANCE INVESTIGATED THE CAUSES OF THE SMOKE AND FOUND THE #2 WINDSCREEN ELECTRICAL TERMINAL BLOCK CHARDED WITH DAMAGE TO THE WIRE AND TERMINAL. A MAINTENANCE TEAM WAS DISPATCHED TO THE AIRCRAFT TO REPLACE THE #2 WINDSCREEN. THIS MATTER CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
