## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND BY THE CIVIL AIR PATROL PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE AIRPORT AT SONOMA SKYPARK SONOMA, CA PROPPED UP ON A BUCKET AND COVERED WITH A TARP. AN ELT SIGNAL HAD BEEN GOING OFF FOR FIVE HOURS. THE NOSE GEAR APPEARED TO HAVE COLLAPSED AND THE PROPELLER WAS DAMAGED. AIRCRAFT WAS MOVED BY PERSONS UNKNOWN OUT OF A DITCH WHERE THE GEAR COLLAPSED WITHOUT NTSB APPROVAL. UPON LANDING THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND LOCKED UP THE BRAKES AND RAN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS. AFTER ABOUT 100 YARDS THE AIRCRAFT HIT A DITCH AND COLLAPSED THE NOSE LANDING GEAR BEFORE HITTING A SECOND DITCH WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX06LA210](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX06LA210), Jun 21, 2006: Beech A36 (N100VH), Schellville, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing rollout.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
